Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is comprised of 10 tenure teaching and skilled faculty, 12 adhoc staff, and over 253 regular and 60 part time students. Mechanical Engineering is one of the major activities in the engineering profession and its principles are involved in the design, study and development. Moving through a few decades, the Department of Mechanical Engineering consolidated to its present condition offering 8-Semester Part-time diploma Courses with an approximate intake of 30 students annually and 6-Semester regular diploma Courses with an intake of 60 students annually.

The Department provides ample laboratory facilities and hands-on training to the Diploma students both in the conventional subject as also in the emerging fields of specialization

Automobile Lab

The goals of the Laboratory are to provide the fundamental knowledge base for automotive engineering and to educate students to become technological leaders in the automotive industry. Students get laboratory experience performing service and minor repairs These lab equipments are portable in size and are highly convenient to use. For ease of handling, we have fitted high quality mechanical lab equipment and instruments in these Automobile Engineering Lab.


Foundry lab equipment refer to a variety of specialized equipment used for Special purposes. These equipment are essential and useful in various domains and fields of metal casting. In foundry the students are guided in preparing the mould cavities using foundry sand


Special Machine Shop

Equipment available for the students use includes a Vertical & horizontal milling machine, Centre Lathes, Drilling Machines, Shaping Machines, the machine shop is equipped with high quality cutting tools for the operations like Marking, Centre drilling, Facing, Taper turning, Grooving, knurling, Profile turning, Drilling, Boring, Thread cutting etc.,

Computer Integrated Manufacturing Lab

The Computer Integrated Manufacturing Laboratory is an industrial engineering facility. Each of the stations in the lab provides a different educational opportunity to students. Students learn the basics of automated control, CAD/CAM, CNC milling, robotic programming, and integrated systems.

Metrology Lab

Metrology and measurements constitute an important element in all laboratories for conducting experiments and for all types of control processes in the industrial activities. This lab provides the students an active learning environment for the measurement technologies. Students use the laboratory to collect and analyze measurement data, evaluate measurement methodologies, and learn the capabilities and limitations of measurement technologies.
