Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

In an attempt to empower women through technical education, Shri Arumugasamy, a noted philanthropist of Tuticorin, has contributed a sum of six lakhs towards the construction of a separate block for ECE, which is designated exclusively for girls.

Started with a mere 30 girls in the year 1982, the strength rose to 36, with the addition of 6 girls in the second year. Later, the allotted seats doubled to 72(60 + 6+ 6), benefitting more number of girl students.

While the shift system was adopted just as in other branches, no part time classes were conducted for this branch.
